Ragavendhra Garments

Ragavendhra Garments is located at No. 2/ 77- 1 in Kaniyampoondi, over in the Vanchi Palayam area. It is a place where we spend most of our daylight hours cutting fabric and sewing things together. The building is just a standard setup, nothing that would really stand out if you were driving past. Inside, it is a different story with all the tables covered in cloth and various sewing kits lying around. We have been doing this for some time now. We are not trying to be a big global brand or anything like that. We just make clothes for people who need them. Most of us grew up around here and learned the trade from older family members or friends. It is a lot of sitting and focusing on the details of the garments. The light in the workshop is okay, but we often have to move our tables closer to the windows when the sun starts to go down in the evening. We talk a bit while we work, mostly about stuff happening in the village or what we are planning to have for dinner. It is a relaxed atmosphere but we still get our work done. Kaniyampoondi is a quiet enough place to work without too many distractions. We like the rhythm of the needles and the sound of the scissors through the cloth. That is just who we are at Ragavendhra Garments, just regular people making clothes at our own pace every single day.
