Unitedgarments

Unitedgarments is sitting right here on Thalai Thoppumettupalyam Road, not far from the G. N. Mills post office in Coimbatore. If you know the area, you know it gets pretty busy around here during the day. We have been doing this for some time now, just working away in our space. Most mornings start with the sound of the shutters going up and someone putting the kettle on for tea. The road outside always has trucks and bikes moving past, and sometimes the dust gets a bit much, but that is just how it is in this part of town. We handle a lot of different pieces, mostly just keeping our heads down and making sure everything is stitched right before it goes out the door. The building isn't anything fancy, just a practical place where we can get the work done without too much fuss. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, and we all take a break until it comes back on. It is a simple setup we have here. There are piles of fabric in the corners and the rhythm of the machines is something you just get used to after a while. Most of the folks working here have been around for years, so we all know how the day is going to go before it even starts. We just try to stay busy and keep things moving along steadily every week.
