Uday Garments

We are located at No. 38/ A on 10th Street in Gandhipuram. It’s a busy neighborhood with a lot of shops and people always moving about. Uday Garments started out pretty small and we are still basically a small team working out of this space. The shop is filled with different types of clothes we’ve put together. Some days are slower than others, which gives us time to reorganize the shelves or fix up the display in the front window. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just make garments and sell them to people who come by. The street can be quite noisy with all the traffic and bikes, but once you step inside, it’s mostly just the sound of sewing machines or the radio playing in the corner. We know the neighbors well and often share a cup of coffee with them during the afternoon break. Our building isn't brand new, and the paint might be peeling a bit in the corners, but it works for what we need. We focus on the quality of the thread and the feel of the fabric. It’s a practical way to earn a living. We’ve been in Gandhipuram long enough that people know where to find us when they need something specific. It’s just regular work done by regular people who care about making a decent shirt or a pair of pants.
