Primac Garments(export)

Our unit, Primac Garments, is over at No. 311 Palakattu Thottam. It is right on the No. 15 Velampalayam Main Road here in Tirupur. If you know this part of the city, you know it is all about the garment industry and exports. We do mostly export work so there is always a lot of cardboard boxes stacked up ready to go out to the ports. The building is quite large and we use every single bit of it for production and storage. It is a noisy place with the constant sound of machines and people talking over them. We don't have a fancy showroom because we aren't really set up for individual shoppers to come in. Most of our day is spent looking at production schedules and making sure the packing is done exactly right. The traffic on Velampalayam Main Road can be a real nightmare in the evenings with all the trucks moving around. We have been at this location for a long time and we have seen the whole neighborhood change quite a bit. It is hard work and the hours can be very long when we have a big shipment due. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that. We just rely on the work we have done before to keep the business going. It is a practical business and we don’t try to make it seem like anything else.
