Arpee Garments

Our workshop is located at 478/4e on the Kovilvazhi Dharampuram Road in Tiruppur. If you know this area, you know it’s the heart of the garment industry, so there’s always the sound of stitching machines in the background. The road outside is usually busy with motorcycles and small trucks carrying finished goods. We have a fairly basic setup here with several tables for cutting and machines for sewing. It’s not a fancy office; it’s a place where work actually happens. The walls are painted a plain white that’s started to yellow over the years. We keep the windows open to catch whatever breeze we can, though Tiruppur stays pretty warm most of the year. Every morning, we check the schedules and start on the piles of fabric that arrived the day before. There’s a specific rhythm to the work here that everyone just knows without being told. We’ve got a small area in the back for packing things into cartons. Sometimes the lint from the fabrics gets everywhere, so we have to spend time at the end of the shift sweeping it all up. It’s honest work, and we don't try to make it sound like more than it is. We’re just here on Dharampuram Road, putting clothes together and sending them out to where they need to go. It’s what we do every day, and we try to do it well enough to keep going.
