Up here in Tiruppur, things are always moving fast. Teejoy Activewear is tucked away at 6A Teachers' Colony 2nd Street. If you know Angeripalayam Road, you know how busy it gets with all the textile stuff going on. Our place is basically a workshop where we handle the sportswear. There’s usually the sound of machines running in the background. It gets pretty loud. We have a small team from around the Coimbatore area. Some of us have been working with fabrics for years. We aren't doing anything revolutionary, just making sure the stitching on the gym clothes is strong. The floors are often covered in loose threads and scraps of polyester. We have a few desks for the paperwork, but most of the action happens on the cutting tables. Sometimes we run out of tea in the afternoon, which is a bit of a disaster for the staff. We don't have a big marketing department or a fancy lobby. People just drop by or call us about their orders. It’s a bit dusty because of the road construction nearby, but we keep the work going. It’s honest work. We make sure the sizes are right and the colors don't bleed. That’s pretty much the daily routine at our spot in Teachers' Colony. We just focus on the shirts and pants. We like to keep things simple and get the bags packed for the couriers before they arrive in the evening.
