Arunkkumar Spining Mill Pvt. Ltd. is located over in Annur. It’s a typical spinning mill setup. We have the big spinning frames that take the raw fiber and turn it into yarn. Annur is a good place for this kind of work because there are plenty of people who know how to handle the machines. The mill is quite large and it stays pretty loud inside all day long. We produce different counts of yarn depending on what the buyers are asking for. It's a lot of maintenance. Someone always has to be checking the spindles and making sure the tension is right. We have a few shifts running so the mill doesn't really stop much. The air is always filled with a bit of cotton dust, so we wear masks most of the time. My office is just a small room at the front where I handle the invoices and the payroll. We don't have any fancy landscaping or a big lobby. It’s just a place of work. People in Annur know us. We’ve been a part of the local economy for a good bit of time. The trucks come in with the raw cotton and leave with the finished yarn cones. It’s a repetitive process but it’s what we do.
