Arul Balaji Steam Calendring

We are located on Angeripalayam Main Road, specifically at the 5th Cross near Jv Tapes in the Khader Lay-out area. Our work is all about steam calendring, which means it gets very hot and humid inside our facility. We have big machines that use steam to finish the fabrics, and you can hear the hiss of the pipes all day long. It’s a tough environment to work in, especially during the summer, but we’ve all gotten used to the heat. We don't have a fancy showroom because that’s not what we do. People bring their cloth to us to get it processed, and then they take it away once it's finished. The floors are usually a bit damp from the steam, and there is always a smell of hot fabric in the air. We spend a lot of time maintaining the boilers and making sure the pressure is just right. If something breaks, the whole day stops, so we try to be careful. The Khader Lay-out area is a busy part of town with a lot of textile-related businesses, so we are in good company. We just do our bit of the process and try to keep the machines running smoothly. It’s not the kind of job you do if you want to stay clean, but we just try to get the finish right for every batch.
