S.Y.K. Engineering Industries

We’ve been here at S.Y.K. Engineering Industries for a good while now. Our place is tucked away on Thottipalayam Road, specifically over at Athikuttai Thottamchinniampalayam. It's not the easiest address to say if you aren't from around here, but once you find us, you’ll see we stay pretty busy. Most mornings start with the sound of machines warming up. We have a small group of guys who have worked together for years. We aren't a giant factory or anything like that. It’s just a regular engineering spot where we handle whatever comes through the door. Sometimes the weather gets really hot and the shop floor feels like an oven, but we keep the fans going and get the work finished. People usually drop by because they know someone who knows us. It’s a lot of metal work and fixing things that broke down in other shops. The road outside can get a bit dusty when the trucks go past, especially during the dry season. We don't have a fancy front office or anything. You just walk in and talk to whoever isn't holding a tool at the moment. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit over the years, but our corner stays mostly the same. We just focus on the parts we're making and try to make sure everything fits right before it leaves the yard. It's plain work, but it keeps us going every day. That's just the way it is.
