Super Cutting & Weliding Pvt Ltd is based at No 36 on Dr Rathinam Street. This is over in the Ram Nagar part of Coimbatore, which is a very busy area for this kind of industrial work. We’ve got the welding gear and the cutting tools set up in the back of the shop. It’s a noisy place, as you can imagine with metal being worked on all day long. There’s always the smell of burnt metal and the sparks flying around when we are in the middle of a big job. The street outside, Dr Rathinam Street, isn't very wide, so it can get a bit cramped when delivery trucks are arriving with materials. We don’t spend much time worrying about the office side of things; most of our day is spent out on the shop floor getting our hands dirty and making things. Coimbatore is known for this kind of industry, so we fit right in with the other shops and small factories nearby. We take on whatever work comes through the door, whether it’s a small piece that needs a quick weld or something a bit bigger and more complicated. The guys here have been doing this for years, so they really know their way around the equipment. We don't use any fancy words to describe what we do. It’s just cutting and welding metal. It’s honest work that keeps us occupied from Monday to Saturday. When the power goes out, we just wait it out or do what we can by hand.
