Steel World

Steel World is located right on N. S. R. Road, just across from the Vijaya Bank. If you see the Puliyamaram bus stop, you’re basically there. It’s a busy spot. We spend most of our mornings unloading trucks or moving heavy metal around. The noise of the traffic and the metal clanging together is something you get used to after a while. I’ve been working here for quite some time, and it’s mostly just a lot of lifting and counting. We aren't big on office decor or anything like that. The walls have some dust, and there is always a bit of grease somewhere. People stop by looking for specific sizes, and we do our best to find what they need in the back. Sometimes the inventory gets a bit messy, but we eventually sort it out. It's just me and a few other guys running the show day to day. We don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. If you come in, you just talk to whoever is behind the counter. Usually, someone is on the phone with a supplier. We try to keep things simple because that is what works for us. It gets hot in the summer, especially with all the steel around, but we just keep the fans going. It’s a straightforward business, no real frills or complications involved in what we do. It's just local work that keeps us moving.
