Steel Complex

Our place is at 88, Race Course Road. It’s a busy street, so there is always a lot of traffic passing by our front door. We deal mostly in steel, so our yard is full of heavy beams and sheets stacked up high. You can hear the clang of metal against metal pretty much all day long. It’s a noisy environment, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We don’t have a fancy office. Most of the time we are out in the yard or near the scales checking the weights of the loads. The sun can be quite hot out there, so we wear hats and try to stay in the shade when we can. Our desks are covered in delivery notes and scraps of paper with measurements written on them. It’s a bit chaotic if you’re not used to it. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or expensive furniture. The money goes into the stock and keeping the trucks running. People come to us because they know we are here and we have what they need. We’ve been on Race Course Road for a long time and have seen the city grow around us. It’s a practical business for practical people. We just keep the steel moving and handle the daily tasks as they come.
