Sri Murugan Foundry

Sri Murugan Foundry is located over on Avanashi Road in Chinniampalayam. If you know the area, you probably know where the foundry is because we have been at 1/108 for a long while. The work here is pretty straightforward but it is hard. It gets very hot near the furnaces, especially in the afternoons. We spend our days melting metal and pouring it into various molds. It is a messy business, and our clothes usually show it by the end of the shift. Most of the guys who work here live nearby in the Chinniampalayam area. We start early before the sun gets too high. There is always some noise from the machinery, but that is just part of life at a foundry. We do not have a fancy showroom or anything like that. People come to us when they need specific castings made for their own projects. Sometimes the orders are small, sometimes they are bigger, but we treat them all the same. We just focus on the metal and making sure the shapes come out right. The office is small and tucked away at the front of the site. Dealing with raw materials and sand all day means things are not always perfectly clean, but we know where everything is. It is a practical place for practical work. We have been part of the local industrial scene for years now, just keeping at it day in and day out.
