Sreeja Hosairies

Sreeja Hosairies is located on Maruthoor Main Road out in Vellaloor. It’s a bit away from the main city center, which we actually prefer for the most part. The pace here feels a little different compared to the busier industrial zones. We focus mostly on hosiery items. The building has been here for years, and it shows its age in a few spots, but it holds all our equipment just fine. Every morning, we open up and start the knitting machines. The smell of yarn and the rhythmic clicking of the needles is what fills the air most of the time. We aren’t a giant factory, just a local operation where everyone knows each other’s names. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to wait a bit, which can be frustrating when we have deadlines to meet. We try to keep a good stock of supplies so we don't have to go back and forth to the suppliers too often. The road outside can get dusty during the dry season. We keep the front doors open for a bit of air when it isn't too hot. It is a straightforward kind of life here. We make the goods, pack them into bags, and wait for the transport trucks to pick them up. It’s hard work, and my hands usually have bits of thread on them by the end of the day. There’s always something to fix or a machine that needs oiling.
