Sree Sooriya Metal Castings

We’ve been here at 15, V.K. Road in Peelamedu for quite some time now. Most days it’s just us working with the molds and the molten metal, trying to get things right. It gets really hot in here, especially in the afternoons when the furnace is going full tilt. Peelamedu is a busy spot, and our shop is tucked away where we just focus on the casting work. Sometimes the dust gets everywhere, but that is just part of the job. People around here know where we are if they need something made from metal. We don’t have any fancy office or a big team, just a few of us who know how to handle the metal. The floor is usually covered in sand and scrap pieces. It’s not the cleanest place, but it’s where the work happens. Every morning we open up the shutters and get the machines ready. There’s always a pile of orders to get through, and some days are longer than others. We drink tea from the stall down the road and keep moving. Metal casting isn't easy work, and it takes its toll on your hands and clothes. You won't find us wearing suits or sitting behind desks much. Most of our time is spent right there on the shop floor, making sure the pours are steady. It’s a basic setup, really. We just do our bit every day here in Peelamedu and go home tired.
