Sparkle Fashions

Sparkle Fashions is basically just a house that we turned into a workspace over at 39 Ramaiah Colony. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, maybe just another building in the colony, but inside we’ve got sewing machines going most of the day. We started out small and stayed that way because it’s easier to manage things ourselves. We do a lot of stitching and some embroidery work too. Most of the ladies who work here live nearby, so they just walk over in the mornings. It’s a loud place when everyone is working at once, but we’re used to it. We have heaps of fabric everywhere—different colors and types just piled up on the shelves and sometimes on the floor if we run out of room. We don't have a receptionist or anything. If someone knocks, one of us just gets up and answers the door. We make clothes for local shops and sometimes individual orders if someone asks nicely. We aren't trying to be some big fashion house you see on TV. We just like making things that people can actually wear. The tea kettle is always on in the corner. Sometimes we get the orders wrong and have to redo them, but that’s just part of it. Ramaiah Colony is a quiet place usually, except for when our machines are running. It’s a good spot for us to just get on with it.
