Soundarraja Engineering Works

Our shop is at E-53 in the Sidco Industrial Estate in Kurichi. We have been here in this part of Coimbatore for a long time. Soundarraja Engineering Works is basically a place where we turn metal and fix things that break in other factories. We have some old lathes and milling machines that have been with us since the start. They are loud and they take up a lot of space, but they work better than some of the newer stuff we have tried. The Kurichi estate is always buzzing with activity, so there is always something going on outside our doors. We are a small crew, mostly family and a few workers who have become like family over the years. We do not have a website or anything like that. People just know where E-53 is and they bring their parts to us when they need repairs or custom work done. The floor is always covered in metal shavings, even if we sweep it twice a day. It is hard work, especially when the weather gets humid, but we like it. We take pride in the fact that we can fix things that others say are junk. It is not a glamorous business, just a lot of sweat and heavy lifting. We stay until the job is done, even if that means working late under the tube lights. We just keep the machines running.
