Jebas Exports

Our place is at No. 11/1 Main Road, right near the government hospital here in Somanur. Being so close to the hospital means the road is always busy with people and vehicles. Jebas Exports isn't a huge operation. It is mostly just a few rooms where we keep our fabric and the packing materials. We focus on getting things ready for export, which means a lot of checking for loose threads and making sure the counts are right. The walls are a bit plain and we have boxes stacked up everywhere. It’s not the most organized looking place, but we know where everything is. Somanur is a quiet town mostly, except for this main road. My cousin helps me with the orders and we have a couple of locals who come in to help with the packing. We don't have a big fancy office with air conditioning. We just use the ceiling fans and keep the windows open, even if the dust comes in. Sometimes the trucks have trouble parking because the road is narrow, so we end up carrying the boxes ourselves. It’s tiring work but it’s what we do. We usually have tea from the shop across the street twice a day. It’s a simple business. We don’t use any big words or marketing tricks. We just get the garments ready and send them off. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk, other days we are working until late night.
