Down at No. 428 in Shri Shiva Murgan Nagar, life is pretty steady. We are right near Oxford School on the Muthnapadyam Khankheyamj Road. You can hear the school bells and the kids shouting during their break times. Our unit is in 3A/3B. It is a decent space, though the storage area gets cluttered fast. We have rows of machines and a lot of thread spools scattered around. The light in the morning is actually quite good through the front door. People find Smart Apparels easily because of the school landmark. It is a local neighborhood, so everyone knows each other. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, and we just wait it out. The floor is concrete and has a few cracks, but it works for what we need. We do not have a lobby or anything like that. You just walk right in and see the work happening. There is a small desk for paperwork, but it is usually buried under sample pieces and measuring tapes. It gets dusty from all the cotton, so we try to sweep once a day at least. The road outside is paved but narrow. Trucks have to be careful when they back in. It is just a normal day-to-day operation here in Muthnapadyam. We keep the machines running as much as we can and try to keep things organized despite the constant flow of material coming in.
