Sia Fresh Foods is tucked away in the basement floor of Kanchi Nilayam, which is on South Usman Road in T.Nagar. If you know Chennai, you know how crowded T.Nagar gets, especially around our area. We’ve been working from this spot for a while, dealing with various food products and getting them ready for the market. Being in a basement means it’s a bit quieter than the street outside, which helps when we are trying to get the books in order or manage the inventory. We handle a lot of different fresh items, so timing is everything for us. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of offices, just this one place where we manage everything. The humidity in Chennai can be a challenge for food storage, so we have to stay on top of that every single day. Our team is small and we all pretty much do a bit of everything, from answering phones to checking the crates. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. It’s just a workspace where we get the job done. Sometimes the deliveries are late because of the T.Nagar traffic, but we manage. We just focus on keeping things moving and making sure the food stays fresh as it goes through our hands. It's basic, hard work but it keeps us busy from morning till evening.
