Shri Balachandra Foundary

You can find Shri Balachandra Foundary over at 7 Avarampalayam Road in Ganapathy. It is a place where there is always a bit of smoke and the smell of hot metal in the air. Running a foundry is hard work and it is definitely not a clean job. We spend most of our time around the furnaces and the sand molds trying to get the castings just right. The floor is usually covered in fine dust and we all end up with a bit of grease on our clothes by noon. It is a local shop and most of the guys working here live nearby in the neighborhood. We have been doing this for a long time and we do not really see the need for a lot of fancy equipment if the old ways still work fine. Some days the heat is a bit much to handle but we just keep the fans going and get through the shift. We do not have any big speeches about our work or anything like that. We just make the parts people ask for and try to keep our machines running smoothly. It is a basic operation and we prefer it that way. If you drop by you will see us in the thick of it probably moving heavy stuff or checking on a pour. We just keep our heads down and do the work needed.
