Shiva Engineering Works

Shiva Engineering Works is located at 11/323 on Avinashi Road. Being near R.G.Pudur Privu means there is always traffic going by. We’re in Chinniampalayam Post, which is a busy area for small shops and workshops like ours. We do a lot of mechanical work here. It involves a lot of oil, sweat, and metal shavings. Most days, the door is wide open to let the breeze in because it gets stuffy inside. We have a few lathes and drills that have seen better days but they still work fine for what we need. People from around the neighborhood bring us things to fix, or we work on bigger parts for local factories. We don't have a receptionist. If you come in, you just shout for one of us over the noise of the machines. We usually have grease on our hands, so we aren't big on paperwork. The Avinashi Road is always loud with buses and lorries. Sometimes we take a break and sit on the bench outside for a few minutes. We’ve stayed in this same spot for quite a while. We know the other shop owners on this stretch. We share tools sometimes or help each other out with heavy lifting. It’s a decent way to make a living. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop, just one that gets the job done right so people keep coming back. We just take it day by day.
