Sethiya Weaves India Private Limited

Our place is located over in Rasagoundapalayam, right near Poochkadu Manikapuram. If you know the Palladam area, you know it gets pretty dusty with all the traffic and the wind blowing across the fields. Sethiya Weaves India Private Limited is situated at 2/130-C, which is a bit of a trek if you’re coming from the center of Coimbatore, but we like the space we have here. Inside the unit, it’s mostly just the sound of the weaving machines going all day long. It gets quite loud, so you have to shout a bit if you want to be heard over the clicking. We have several rows of looms and there’s always someone walking around checking the tension or fixing a broken thread. The air usually has that heavy smell of raw cotton and oil. We don’t have a big fancy office, just a small desk in the corner where we keep the logs. Most of the guys live nearby, so they walk or bike in. Lunch usually happens under the shade of the trees out back because it’s cooler than being under the metal roof when the sun is high. We’ve had some busy months lately where the trucks are coming in and out every day. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting the heavy rolls and getting them labeled right. We just try to keep the machines running steady and make sure the fabric looks okay before it goes out. It involves a lot of long hours.
