Service Engineer

Ranganathan’s place is at 367/2, Muthu Line House in Indra Nagar. We’re right here in the Agragaram area of Pallipalayam. It’s a quiet spot, which is good because the work we do as service engineers requires a lot of focus. We don't have a big staff or any fancy equipment. Most of our tools are things we’ve had for a decade or more. They still work fine, so there’s no reason to change them. Our days start early when the air is still cool. We mostly handle repairs for local folks and small businesses nearby. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find anyone wearing a tie. We’re usually in old shirts that are stained with oil or grease. The workshop is a bit cramped, especially when we have several projects going on at the same time. We don't use computers much for our work, just our hands and what we’ve learned over the years. Sometimes we have to wait a while for parts to come in from the bigger cities, which can be frustrating for everyone. We don't even have a big sign out front, just the address and a small board. People know where we are. We just take it one job at a time and don't worry too much about the rest. It’s honest work and it keeps the lights on. We don't ask for much more than that.
