Chirantan Garments

Our place, Chirantan Garments, is on the first floor at No. 235-B in Serankadu 4th Street. We are right across from the Mgb Theatre. You can often hear the music or the crowds from the cinema when a big movie is playing. We have a set of stairs that lead up to our work area. It is a bit of a climb if you are carrying boxes. Inside, it is mostly the sound of sewing machines and people talking over the noise. We have about ten people working here most days. The windows stay open to keep it from getting too stuffy, but the street noise comes right in. We deal with a lot of thread and scraps of fabric that end up all over the floor by noon. I usually sweep up twice a day just to keep it somewhat tidy. We have been in this building for several years now. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't found the time to move everything out of the way. It is a busy environment. We start early in the morning before the sun gets too hot. Most of us bring our own tiffins and eat together during the break. It is a simple setup without any big corporate frills. We just focus on the garments and getting the orders ready on time. There is always a lot to do before we can close up for the night.
