Out here at Sandfits Foundaries Pvt. Ltd., the day starts early before the sun really hits the Trichy Road. Our spot at Sf. No. 200/1-A is right by Ravathur Pirivu, and if you’ve ever been through the area near Kannampalavam Post, you’ve probably seen the dust and the trucks lined up. Foundry work is a bit messy, to be honest. There is sand everywhere and the heat from the furnaces is something you just learn to live with after a week or two on the job. We aren't trying to win any awards for having a clean office, that’s for sure. Mostly, we are just focused on the molds and making sure the metal pours right. The guys on the floor know their stuff because they’ve been doing it since they were young. Sometimes things break down and we have to spend half a day fixing a machine, which is frustrating but it’s just part of the routine. We have our tea breaks together under the shade when it gets too hot to stay inside. It’s a loud place, with the sound of machinery and clanging metal being the main background noise all day long. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us here in the yard, getting the orders ready for whoever needs them. People around Kannampalavam know us as the place that’s always busy, regardless of the weather. We just stick to what we know.
