Samudra

Our shop, Samudra, is right on the ground floor of Senthil Towers. If you know 1078 Avinashi Road, then you know where we are. It’s always busy out there on the main road. Sometimes the traffic is so loud we have to shout a bit to hear each other, but you get used to it after a few weeks. We’ve been sitting in this same spot for a while now. Most of the folks who work here live pretty close by, so we just walk or take a quick scooter ride in. It’s not a fancy place with glass walls and bright lights, just a regular office where we get our daily tasks done. We have some old desks and a tea kettle that’s seen better days, but it makes a decent cup of chai in the afternoon. People stop in throughout the day, some just to say hello or ask for directions because of where we’re located. We don’t mind that. It’s just how things go around here. We try to keep things organized, though the paperwork does pile up on the corners of the tables sometimes. Life moves pretty fast on Avinashi Road, but inside here, we just take it one thing at a time. It’s a job, and we’re glad to have it. There’s no big secret to how we run things, we just show up and do what needs doing.
