S. V. L. Knitting Mills

We’ve been running S. V. L. Knitting Mills from this spot at 13, 2Nd Lane for quite some time now. You’ll find us right on College Road if you’re looking. It isn’t much to look at from the outside, just a regular building where we keep the machines going. Most days it’s pretty loud in here because of the knitting, but you get used to the rhythm after a while. We started out small and just kept at it because this is what we know how to do. The lane can get a bit crowded with deliveries coming in and out, especially when the yarn arrives. We try to keep things moving as best as we can. Sometimes the weather makes the floor a bit damp, or the light isn't great in the back corner, but we manage just fine. People in the neighborhood know us by now. We don't really do much fancy stuff, just focus on the work that needs finishing. It’s a simple setup we’ve got here on College Road. We spend a lot of hours sitting at the benches or checking the threads. Sometimes we take a break out front when the sun is out. It’s just how things go for us every day. We aren't trying to be anything we're not. We just keep the mill running and hope the machines don't give us too much trouble today. That's about all there is to it.
