Royal Engineering Works

Royal Engineering Works is tucked into number 18, Poonthallam, on the Iind Road in Mookambigai Nagar. If you are driving through Ganapathy, you might miss the turn if you are not looking closely, but we have been here long enough that most locals can point you our way. The second road here is usually lined with parked bikes and there is always a bit of grease on the floor of the shop. We do a lot of engineering work that keeps our hands dirty most of the time. It is a small team and we have known each other for years, so we do not need many words to get through the day. The building is simple and serves its purpose for the machinery we keep inside. Sometimes the heat in Ganapathy can be a bit much, especially in the afternoons, but we just take a break under the shade and then get back to it. We don't have a big marketing department or anything; it is just us at the workbench. Most of our neighbors are doing similar work, so the sound of machines is just background noise to everyone on Iind Road. We take pride in just getting the job done without making a big fuss about it. Every evening, we lock up the shutters and head home, ready to do the same thing again tomorrow morning. It is a quiet life in a busy way.
