Rashi Steels

Rashi Steels has its shop at 21 Dr Rajarathinam Street. We are right in the Kattoor area, which is pretty well known for being a hub for this kind of stuff. The street is usually lined with trucks and people moving metal around. Our place is no different. We have piles of steel that we move in and out all day long. It's a lot of physical work, and we aren't exactly wearing clean clothes by the time evening rolls around. The office part is just a small corner where we keep the ledger and the phone. We don't bother with fancy decorations because they’d just get dirty. People come to Kattoor specifically for things like what we sell, so we don't have to do much talking. We just show them the stock and work out the details. Sometimes the weather makes it tough, especially when it’s really hot and the metal is hard to handle, but we’re used to it by now. We’ve been on Dr Rajarathinam Street for a while and we know most of the neighbors. It’s a tight-knit community of workers and owners. We don't have a "mission" or anything, we just want to make sure the steel we sell is what the customer asked for. If we do that, we’re happy. It's a straightforward way to earn a living and we don't plan on changing much.
