Raj Tube Corporation

Raj Tube Corporation is at Number 4, Thamarai Nagar in Kavundampalayam. It’s a pretty straightforward place where we keep all kinds of metal tubes and pipes. The floor is concrete and it’s seen a lot of wear over the years from all the heavy lifting. We don’t have a big staff or a fancy front desk. It’s usually just a couple of us here handling the inventory and talking to whoever comes by. The neighborhood is a mix of houses and small businesses so it’s usually quite lively during the day. We open the shutters early in the morning and stay until the work is finished. It’s a dusty job and our clothes usually show it by the end of the shift. We have stacks of pipes leaning against the walls and it can be a bit of a maze if you don't know your way around. We don’t have any big mission statements or anything like that. We just supply tubes to whoever needs them. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a bit of trouble getting into the narrow street but we always manage to get them loaded up. It’s a practical business run by people who don't mind getting their hands dirty. We've been in Kavundampalayam for quite a while and we like being part of the local community here. We have some old posters on the wall and a fan that clicks, but it's home.
