Raj Fabrication

If you go down School Street in Balagi Nagar, you will find Raj Fabrication. It is a decent spot here in Sundakkamuthur, not too far from the main bustle but tucked away enough that we can get our work done. We spend most of our hours bent over worktables or crouched on the floor, depending on how big the frame is that we are building. The school nearby means there are kids around in the mornings and afternoons, so we have to be careful when we are moving long pieces of iron in and out of the gate. Our shop is filled with the usual stuff—drills, welding sets, and buckets of bolts. It is a lot of hard work, and the noise can get pretty loud when we are grinding down a rough edge. We don't go in for anything fancy or complicated. We just take the steel, cut it to the size needed, and join it up. Sometimes the weather makes it tough, like when it rains and the humidity makes the metal sweat, but we just keep going. It is a small team here, and we all know our roles. We aren't looking to be the biggest shop in town, just the one that does the job right for the people who live and work around Sundakkamuthur. It is a simple life, mostly spent under the glare of the welding arc and the smell of ozone. We just like making things that last for a long time.
