Ragavendra Garments

Our place, Ragavendra Garments, is right on 164 Pollachi Road in Udumalpet. It’s a well-known road, so people find us okay most of the time. The building itself is quite old and has a lot of character from the years we've been here. We’ve done some work on it to keep it standing, but it still feels lived-in. Inside, it’s all about the garments. We have racks and stacks of fabric everywhere you look. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes when you're trying to find a specific roll. We have a small group of workers who have been here for years. We know the machines inside out and how to fix them when they break. It’s not a quiet place. There’s always the hum of activity and machines running. We don't have any fancy offices or meeting rooms. We usually just talk over the worktables while we're doing things. It’s a hands-on kind of business. We’re not trying to impress anyone with how we look or what we say. We just want to do the work properly and get it out. The dust from the cloth is something we just deal with every day. Udumalpet is a nice town, and being on Pollachi Road means there’s always something happening outside the door. We open the big doors early to get the breeze in. It’s a simple way of working. We don't use big words. We just make clothes.
