We are tucked right behind it, and sometimes you can even hear the muffled sound of the movies if the wind is blowing the right way. The address is repetitive because that is just how people describe it—behind MPS Theatre, behind MPS Theatre, behind MPS Theatre. It makes it sound like we are hidden away, and I guess we kind of are. We spend our days surrounded by piles of cloth and the hum of the stitching machines. It’s not a quiet place, but it’s our place. The workers here are used to the routine. We open up the shutters early and let the air circulate before the heat of the day really sets in. There isn’t much space for big signs or anything, so we just rely on people knowing where we are located in the back there. Being behind a landmark like the theatre helps a lot. We don’t really do much else besides the garment work. It’s a simple setup with enough light to see the thread clearly. Most days are the same, just cutting and sewing and packing things into boxes. It’s a living, and we’ve been doing it right here in this spot for some time now. No big fuss, just Prisma Garments doing what we do every single day.
