We are located at 7/2 A in Anna Nagar, specifically the Peelamedu side. It’s a decent area, mostly residential with some offices scattered around. Our place is tucked into a building that doesn’t look like much from the outside, but we’ve got a lot going on inside. I usually get here before nine to beat the Peelamedu traffic, which has gotten worse lately. The room is filled with sewing machines and rolls of fabric. It’s loud when everyone is working at once, but that’s just how it is in this trade. We do a lot of the tailoring and assembly right here on the premises. There are scraps of thread everywhere by the end of the day. We try to keep things organized, but when we’re in the middle of a big batch, it gets a little messy. The windows look out onto a small side street, so it stays relatively quiet compared to the main road. We don't really do any advertising; most people just find us by word of mouth or by walking past the Anna Nagar sign. It’s a family-run kind of feel, even if we aren't all related. We drink tea together in the afternoon and talk about what needs to be finished by evening. It's steady work, nothing too exciting, just making sure the clothes are put together properly before they leave the shop. We keep our heads down and stay busy. Sometimes we stay late when a deadline is coming up fast.
