Om Apparels is located at No. 370 on Jai Nagar 1st Street, right off Kangeyam Road in Nallur. We’ve been here in this part of Nallur for a good while now. Our daily routine involves a lot of fabric, patterns, and sewing machines. It’s a garment unit, plain and simple. We don't have a fancy reception area. When you walk in, you’re pretty much standing where the work happens. There are threads of all colors hanging on the walls and piles of finished shirts or trousers waiting to be packed. We have a small group of workers who have been with us for years. We aren't trying to compete with the huge factories; we just focus on the orders we have on hand. Kangeyam Road is usually busy, so there’s a constant sound of traffic in the background. Sometimes we have to work late to finish a batch, especially if there was a problem with the machines earlier in the day. We drink a lot of tea and just keep the needles moving. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know how to do. The space is a bit tight with all the boxes, but we manage to find what we need. We’re just a local business trying to do things right without making a fuss. If the clothes are stitched well, then we’ve done our job for the day.
