Silhouette Garments

Silhouette Garments is over at Stop No. 6015 in Odakkadu, right opposite the Angel Hotel. If you see the hotel bungalow, you’re basically right there. We are in the business of making clothes, so the whole place is usually filled with the sound of sewing machines humming along. There are stacks of fabric in different colors piled up against the walls, and thread spools are everywhere you look. It’s a bit cramped sometimes, especially when we have a big batch of garments to finish, but we manage to find our way around. The lighting inside is bright so everyone can see their stitches properly. We don’t have a big corporate structure; it’s mostly just the cutters, the tailors, and a couple of us handling the orders. Sometimes we get the measurements a bit off and have to redo a whole set, but that’s just how it goes in the garment trade. We don't put on any acts for our customers. They come in, see the work happening, and we talk about what they need. The Angel Hotel is a good landmark for people who aren't from around here and get lost looking for our door. It’s a busy neighborhood and there’s always something going on outside. We just keep our heads down and keep the machines running until it’s time to lock up and head home for the evening.
