M & M Exporters is located at No. 17/40 A on Viswanathapuram 4th Street. Thudiyalur is mostly a residential area, so our street is usually quiet until the delivery trucks show up to collect our crates. We started this business because we had some contacts who needed goods sent overseas, and it just grew from there into a full-time job. Our office isn’t very big, and when a large shipment is going out, boxes end up stacked almost to the ceiling. It can get a bit cramped inside. My brother handles all the paperwork and emails while I focus on the packing and making sure everything is labeled correctly. We spend a lot of our day on the phone with shipping agents or checking on the status of containers at the port. Sometimes things get delayed or there is a mix-up with the documents, and we just have to sit there and figure it out. We drink way too much tea during the day to stay awake. Since we live nearby, everyone in the neighborhood knows what we do. We try to keep the noise down in the mornings so we don't bother the people living next door. It’s a lot of double-checking lists and making sure the right items are in the right boxes. We don't have any fancy signs, just a simple place where we get the work done every day.
