Our unit is Door No. 5A, SF No.-477, located at Vaikal Meedukovil Vazhi in K. Chettipalayam. This is right in the heart of the Tirupur textile area. If you’ve been to Tirupur, you know it’s all about the knitting and the garments. We are one of those small-scale places making things happen. The road outside can get pretty muddy when it rains, and the traffic is mostly tempos and bikes carrying bags of fabric. Inside, it’s the usual sounds of machines or cutting. We have a few rows of equipment and a cutting table. The lighting isn't the best, but we make it work. We handle various textile processes. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but you have to stay sharp to avoid mistakes. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. People find us through word of mouth or because they are in the same trade. We eat our lunch together in the small break area. It’s a hot environment, especially in the afternoons, so the fans are always on full blast. We mostly just focus on finishing the batches we have for the week. There is always a pile of scrap fabric in the corner that we have to clear out eventually. It’s just a normal Tirupur workshop life for everyone here. We don't pretend to be anything more than what we are.
