Krishna Stores

At Krishna Stores, we operate out of a small space at 71, Kanakkam Palayam Pirivu in Perumanallur. It’s a very local operation. We’ve been serving this community for a long time, mostly selling groceries and daily household items. The shop isn't anything fancy, just four walls and plenty of shelves. We don't have a big corporate team; it’s usually just one or two of us behind the counter. We spend our time weighing out grains and packing them into bags for the customers. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but we don't mind it. The floor is concrete and we have simple wooden racks for the goods. We get most of our stock from the local markets and try to keep everything as fresh as possible. Sometimes we have to close early if there is a family event or a local festival, as we are part of the village life here. People know to come to us for their sugar, oil, and tea leaves. We don't do any big promotions or discounts; we just keep the prices where they should be. It’s a quiet life in Perumanallur, and we like it that way. The shop is a place where people stop to talk for a few minutes while they wait for their change. We know who likes what and who is looking for a particular brand of soap. It’s just a simple, honest way to make a living.
