K.M.Garments

Our place is located at 33 Vedthalkadu 3rd Street in the Karuvampalayam area. It is a bit tucked away if you do not know the turns around here. We have been working out of this building for some time now. Every morning we walk in and start the machines up. The sound of the needles hitting the fabric is the main thing you hear all day long. It is a busy street but mostly just with people who live around here or other small shops doing their own thing. K.M.Garments is not a huge operation, just a handful of us making sure the shirts and trousers get finished on time. We usually have piles of cloth sitting near the back wall waiting to be cut. The lighting isn't the best in the corner, so we moved some lamps over there last week. It made a difference for the stitching work. Sometimes the rain comes down hard on the roof and it gets really loud inside, but we just keep working through it. We take our tea breaks out on the step when it is dry. Karuvampalayam is a good spot for this kind of work because there are other people doing similar things nearby. We just try to get the orders right and keep things moving. There is not much more to it than that. We are just here doing the daily tasks and trying to stay organized in the middle of all the fabric scraps.
