We are situated at A Krishnasamy Layout in the Karuvampalayam area of Tirupur. This city is famous for its knitting, and we are just one small part of that whole scene. Our building is tucked away in a residential-looking street, but once you get inside, it’s all business. We have rows of machines and piles of cotton fabric everywhere you look. The climate here in Tamil Nadu can get very hot, so the ceiling fans are always spinning at full speed. It’s a lot of work to keep up with the pace of the garment industry. We spend our days cutting, stitching, and checking for loose threads. There is a lot of lint in the air, so we have to sweep the floors multiple times a day. Most of our staff live nearby, so they walk or ride their bikes to work. We don't have any big corporate signs out front, just a small board with the name. We drink a lot of water and take short breaks when the heat gets to be too much. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know how to do. The rhythm of the machines becomes like background music after a while. We just focus on finishing the batches and getting them packed into sacks for shipping. It’s a busy, cramped, and honest way to spend the day.
