Karur Vala

You can find Karur Vala out by Nggo Colony on Matupalayam Road. It’s a busy stretch of road and we see a lot of traffic passing by every single day. We set up here because it seemed like a good spot where people could actually get to us without too much trouble. Inside, things are pretty simple. We don’t have a lot of decorations on the walls or anything fancy. It’s mostly just shelves and the stuff we are working on. We get a lot of regulars who stop in while they are out doing their errands. The air is often thick with the sounds of the road outside, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We started this because we wanted something of our own in this part of town. Working for yourself is tough and there are days when things don't go right, like when the power cuts out or a delivery is late. We just deal with it as it comes. We aren’t trying to change the world, just trying to run a decent business and keep the doors open. Most of our staff live nearby, so we all know each other pretty well. It feels more like a small family than a big company. We keep our notes in handwritten ledgers mostly, though we do have a phone for people to call. If you drop by, you’ll probably find us sorting through inventory or talking to a customer near the front.
