Kansika Garments

Our place is at No. 1/ 9- A in Kullegoundenpudur, right along the Mangalam Road. It is a bit of a quiet spot compared to the center of town, which we actually like. Kansika Garments has been operating from here for several years now. The building is a simple concrete structure that stays relatively cool. We have a few rooms dedicated to different stages of making the clothes. We don't have a big sign out front, just a small one that says the name. Most of the people who work here live nearby, so they just walk or bike in every morning. It gives the place a friendly, neighborhood feel. We spend a lot of time checking the details of what we make. It is not about being the fastest in the world, just about getting it done right. Mangalam Road can get busy during peak hours, but our corner stays relatively calm. We have a small area for storing the finished goods before they get picked up by the trucks. There is no fancy office or a receptionist to greet you. If you come by, you will probably find one of us with a measuring tape around our neck. We use older machines that we have maintained ourselves. They still work great after all these years. We don't have much of a philosophy other than just working hard. Every day is pretty much the same: we arrive, we work, we have a break, and then we finish. It is an honest living.
