Jupiter Manufacturing Works

Coimbatore is known for its industries, and over here in RS Puram, it’s no different. Jupiter Manufacturing Works is located at 564 in the MS Complex on DB Road. It’s a busy area with lots of shops and traffic, so finding parking can be a real headache some mornings. Our workshop isn't very large, but we’ve packed in all the machines we need to get the daily jobs finished. The sound of grinding and metalwork is pretty constant from nine to six. We have a small team of workers who have been living in the nearby blocks for years. They know their way around the lathes and the tools better than anyone. It’s a dusty environment, no matter how much we sweep up at the end of the shift. We usually have tea delivered from the stall around the corner twice a day. That’s when everyone takes a break and talks about the news or the weather. We don’t do much advertising; most people just hear about us from other businesses in the complex. It's a straightforward operation. We take the orders, we make the parts, and we send them out. Some days the machines break down and we have to spend hours fixing them, which is frustrating, but it’s part of the trade. We just want to keep the workshop running and keep our regulars satisfied with the work we put out. It's not a glamorous job, but it's what we know how to do best for the locals.
