Jaikumara Garments

Jaikumara Garments is up on the first floor at No. 257/2. We are right by the Old Teset Ground, basically across from the T. T. P. Mill backside. If you’re driving along the Sirupooluvapatti Ring Road in Velampalayam, you have to look for the turn toward the mill area. It gets quite dusty around here with all the trucks passing by on the ring road, but the upstairs space stays a bit cleaner. We’ve got the cutting tables set up near the windows for the light. It's a practical setup. There's usually a lot of noise from the mill nearby, so we just keep our heads down and get through the day’s tasks. The stairs are a bit steep, so carrying the finished bundles down can be a bit of a workout for the guys. We’ve been at this spot for some time. The area has changed a lot, with more buildings going up on the ring road, but our floor stays pretty much the same. We have a few old fans that squeak a bit when they're on high. Most of the people here live nearby in 15 Velampalayam, so they just walk or bike in. It’s a straightforward operation. We don’t have a big front office or anything like that. Just the workspace where the actual garment work happens. It stays busy from morning until late evening most days of the week and we just keep at it.
