Excellent Garments

Excellent Garments is located right on the Nilambur By Pass in Irukkur. It’s a convenient spot because it’s easy for transport to get in and out. Being on the bypass means we see a lot of traffic passing by all day. Our building is a straightforward structure where we handle all our garment work. Inside, it’s usually quite loud because of the sewing machines running. We have a group of people who are really good at what they do, stitching and finishing various types of clothing. We don't have a fancy retail storefront with mannequins in the window. We’re more about the production side of things. Most of the time, the floor is covered in scraps of fabric and thread. We clean up at the end of every day, but it starts all over again the next morning. It’s a busy environment. We’ve been in Irukkur for a while now and have become a part of the local landscape. The smell of new fabric is the first thing you notice when you walk in. We have big tables for cutting the cloth and smaller stations for the detailed work. At Excellent Garments, we don't have any corporate titles or complicated hierarchies. We all just pitch in where we're needed. If there's a pile of shirts that needs folding, someone gets it done. The Nilambur By Pass can be a bit dusty, and the noise from the road never really stops, but we’ve gotten used to it.
