Harishmitha Fashions sits right at S. F. No. 199 in Thirumalai Nagar. If you know the Kangayam Main Road area, we’re pretty easy to find since we are directly opposite Ragam Exports. Being in Nallur means there is always a lot of traffic going past, trucks and bikes mostly. It’s a practical location for what we do. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of tables and people working. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that. We just focus on the orders we have for the week. Sometimes the heat gets a bit much in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going full blast. It’s a straightforward business. We take the materials, do the stitching, and get them packed up. Most of us have been working in this part of town for years. We know the neighbors and the tea stall down the road. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s steady. We try to keep things organized, though during a busy rush, there are boxes everywhere. That’s just part of the trade. We make sure the thread matches and the cuts are straight. Nothing too complicated, just honest work done by hand and machine. We’ve been at this spot for a good bit now, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the main road. It’s home for the business and we just keep at it every single day without fail.
