Hannu Knitters is situated at 8(1)/2-C, Govindammal Layout on Samundipuram Main Road in Tirupur. Like almost everyone else in this town, we are in the knitting business. Our workshop is right on the layout and it stays pretty busy from morning until late evening. The sound of the knitting machines is constant, and the whole place smells a bit like cotton and machine oil. We aren't a big, famous factory. We are just a local spot where we focus on getting the knitting done right. The floor is usually covered in bits of yarn and the walls are a bit stained, but that’s what happens when you’re actually working. We spend a lot of time checking the fabric for any holes or mistakes in the knit. It’s a lot of manual work and it can be hard on the eyes after a few hours. We don't have a marketing person to tell our story. We just know how to handle the machines and produce good fabric. Samundipuram is a loud and dusty place, but it’s where all the action is for textiles. We have a small team of workers who know their jobs well, and we mostly just focus on finishing the orders we have on hand. It’s not a polished business, just a real one where people work hard and hope for the best. We just do our knitting and try to keep things simple.
