Glaudia Sustainable Textiles is based in Tiruppur, which is the heart of the garment world in this part of India. You can find us at 58/1 S.V Colony Extn 1th east. Being in Coimbatore district, we are surrounded by people who know everything about fabric. We decided to focus on sustainable textiles because it felt like the right thing to do, even if it makes the sourcing part of the job a lot harder. Our building in S.V. Colony isn't anything special to look at from the outside. Inside, it is usually a bit messy with samples and scraps of eco-friendly materials lying around. We spend a lot of time talking to suppliers and trying to find the right kind of threads that don't harm the environment as much. It’s a lot of trial and error, to be honest. We aren't a huge factory with thousands of workers; we are a small LLP and we like it that way. It lets us keep an eye on everything ourselves. The weather in Tiruppur can be tough, especially when we are trying to dry fabrics or move heavy boxes. We don't have a corporate board or a fancy mission statement. We just show up every morning, drink our tea, and get to work on the next batch of textiles. It’s hard work and the margins are thin, but we keep going because it is what we know.
